The Boiler Room, Chicago

February 05, 2012

Where do we go for the best thin slice pizza in Chicago? Logan Square. Across from the Blue Line El station sits The Boiler Room, which opened the summer of 2010, shortly after we moved to the city. We love this place. The interior of this pizzeria/bar is constructed using repurposed materials from old train stations. They have Jameson on draft and infused in their soft serve. Their special is the "PB & J:" a slice of pizza, a PBR tall boy, and a shot of Jameson. This place gets packed with hipsters on the weekend and the service is hit or miss, but I don't care so much. I highly recommend The Cuban (includes several varieties of pork, mustard, and pickles) or just a plain Pepperoni pie. Bring cash (no plastic accepted). Or, if you use their ATM, save your receipt: they'll buy you a shot. ps. the french fries are a surprisingly great appetizer.

  2. It's especially tasty with a red heat lamp keeping you and the food warm whilst outside in November.
